  1. Read the order’s note, when it has one (“Gift: no invoice”): tap Got it before the parcel goes on.
  2. Scan every item going into the parcel — one at a time, all of them.
  3. Box — the app proposes the box cartonizationCartonizationChoosing the cheapest suitable box for an order from your box catalog, using item dimensions — and splitting into several boxes where one will not do. Read more → chose; confirm it or override.
  4. Weigh — record the actual parcel weight.
  5. Verify — the job moves to Ready to fulfill and the label can be bought.

The steps after the scan follow the warehouse’s pack checklist (Settings → Fulfillment → Pack checklist): each of Photo, Weigh, Details, Check and Label is off, optional or required there, and the screen shows only the steps that are on.

The proposed box comes from your box catalog and the item dimensions. Overriding is always allowed — the packer holding the goods knows something the dimensions may not.

Weight matters because it is what the carrier bills against. A recorded weight that matches reality is the difference between the rate you were quoted and the adjustment that arrives on next month’s invoice.

Where the warehouse’s pack checklist has Check set to required, that inspection step runs here as part of the loop.

The pick accuracy report is built from what this step catches — it tells you how often verification had to do its job.
