Batches

Batches (/fulfillment/batches) shows the pick batchesPick batchA set of lines one picker walks in one trip, sorted into pick-path order so the building is crossed once rather than repeatedly. Read more → currently on the floor and how far each one has got. Click through for the batch detail: route-sorted lines, what has been picked, and any exceptions.

Picks are ordered along a walking route — zone → aisle → side → bay — rather than by SKU or alphabetically. That single choice is most of the time saving in picking: a picker walks the building once in one direction instead of doubling back for every line.

Warehouses that record bin coordinates get more than that: the route is optimised against the actual geometry, which shortens the trip again.

Ready to pickBuilt and waiting for a picker

Inside a batch, each line carries its own state:

StatusMeans
To pickNot yet reached
PickedPulled and confirmed
Not enough stockA short pickShort pickWhen a bin does not hold what the system expected. Recording it marks the line as not enough stock and posts the discrepancy against that specific bin, rather than quietly under-picking the order. Read more → — the bin did not hold what the system expected
CancelledNo longer needed

A short pick is the interesting one. It does not silently reduce the order — it records that the physical count and the system disagreed at that bin, which is a signal worth counting on.

MethodMeans
Single-item ordersOne line, one order — the fastest possible walk
Batch pickingThe same SKU pulled once for several orders
Multi-order pickingSeveral orders in one walk, each into its own tote (Enhanced)
