Floormode is one of three apps that can share a warehouse. Each owns a different part of the job, and the split is deliberate: one app owns each document, so nobody has to reconcile two systems that both think they are right.

The division of labour
Section titled “The division of labour”| App | Owns | Typical documents |
|---|---|---|
| Logistified | Procurement — what to buy and from whom | Purchase ordersPurchase orderAn order placed on a supplier — the document in Logistified that names the supplier, the lines and the expected date, and which appears in Floormode receiving as the delivery to book in. Read more → , suppliers, transfer orders, stock takes |
| Assemblified | Production — what to build and from what | Work ordersWork orderAn instruction to build something — the document in Assemblified that names what is being made, how many, and which components it consumes, and which asks Floormode to pick those components. | Floormode | The physical warehouse and everything outbound | Receipts, bins, picks, packs, shipments, returns |
The rule that follows from the table is worth stating on its own:
If it is physical, it happens in Floormode. If it is a commitment — to a supplier, or to a build — it happens in the sibling.
A purchase order is a promise to a supplier, so it lives in Logistified. The pallet that turns up against it is physical, so it is received in Floormode. A work order is a plan to build something, so it lives in Assemblified. The components someone walks around the building collecting are physical, so they are picked in Floormode.
Customer communication belongs to Floormode too. Neither sibling emails your customers.
What that means in practice
Section titled “What that means in practice”Nothing is entered twice. Documents raised in a sibling announce themselves in Floormode as work to do, and Floormode reports back what physically happened:
- A purchase order in Logistified becomes an expected delivery in Floormode receiving, complete with supplier and expected date.
- A work order in Assemblified becomes a production pick on the floor.
- What the floor actually received or picked travels back to the sibling, so the document there stays honest without anyone retyping it.
- Goods the sibling owns but Shopify has never heard of — raw materials, sub-assemblies, custom items — are stocked here as local items, in real bins, counted like anything else.
Messages between the apps are queued and confirmed rather than fired and forgotten. If a sibling is unreachable, the work waits and retries; a switched-off sibling gets nothing — see Parked and held.
The pages in this chapter
Section titled “The pages in this chapter”If you run Floormode on its own
Section titled “If you run Floormode on its own”Everything in Floormode works without either sibling. Expected deliveries can be entered by hand, replenishment exports CSV for any supplier, and holds record a document reference whether or not that document lives in another app.
Standalone is the honest account of which surfaces stay empty until you connect something — and of what connecting later does and does not bring with it.
