Reorder points and safety stock
Section titled “Reorder points and safety stock”Reorder points are velocity-based: how fast a SKU actually sells decides when it needs reordering, rather than a fixed threshold someone set once and never revisited.
Safety stockSafety stockThe buffer held underneath the reorder point to absorb a late supplier or an unusually good week without going to zero. Read more → is the buffer underneath that — the cushion that absorbs a supplier being late or a week being unusually good, without going to zero.
Reorder or transfer
Section titled “Reorder or transfer”Not every shortfall needs a purchase order. Where one warehouse is short and another is long on the same SKU, the answer is a transfer, and suggestions include both:
- Reorder — buy more from the supplier.
- Transfer — move it between your own warehouses.
Getting this right is where multi-warehouse operations save real money: buying stock you already own, in the wrong building, is a common and expensive mistake.
You can arrive here pre-filtered. The + Reorder action on a low-stock row in Stock lands you on this page already filtered to that SKU.
Where a suggestion ends up
Section titled “Where a suggestion ends up”Every suggestion ends somewhere concrete — the draft does not vanish back into the app:
- Send it to Logistified, where purchasing lives, or
- Copy it as CSV to hand to your supplier directly.
