Shipping
Shipping (/fulfillment/shipping) is where a verified parcel becomes a bought label. It also holds everything else that happens between the pack bench and the carrier’s van.

Rates and labels
Section titled “Rates and labels”You see every rate for a shipment, sorted by price and speed, and buy the one you want. Labels come as a 4×6 thermal label (ZPL) or a PDF, and can be voided if you made a mistake.
Where you have shipping rules configured, the rule cascade picks the service for you — the cheapest rate, a preferred carrier per country, or the cheapest non-express service when the fast option is not worth it. Without a matching rule, the cheapest rate is preselected: the fulfillment order’s fulfill-by date is when it must ship, not when it must arrive.
A purchase that did not finish. If the carrier does not answer while a label is being bought, a label may still exist, so Floormode never buys a second one blindly. Where a safe retry is not possible (DHL, UPS and Hermes), the shipment asks you after five minutes. Check your carrier account first, then choose No label was created to buy it again, or A label exists and enter its tracking number. You print that label from your carrier account; its tracking still goes to Shopify with the parcel. With Sendcloud or another shipping platform, choose Buy again on the shipment: it buys the same rate, and a label the carrier already made comes back, so you pay once.
Manifests, pickups and exceptions
Section titled “Manifests, pickups and exceptions”- End-of-day manifest — the document the driver takes, listing everything going out today.
- Scheduled carrier pickups — booked from here rather than by phone.
- Delivery exceptions queue — parcels the carrier has flagged: failed attempts, address problems, parcels returning to sender. They also appear in Needs attention on Home.
Freight
Section titled “Freight”Freight (LTL/FTL) handles pallets and oversized goods that will not go as parcels: handling units, multiple freight quotes side by side, and a Bill of Lading with accessorials.
Freight needs its own account — a ShipEngine LTL account for less-than-truckload, or Uber Freight for full-truckload. Uber Freight needs enrollment: enrol first, then store its credentials on the carrier account.
International
Section titled “International”- Inside the EU there is nothing to do. A parcel from Germany to Austria or France needs no customs declaration; the shipment says “No customs declaration needed inside the EU”.
- Outside the EU (Switzerland, the UK, Norway, the US, and the Canary Islands, Heligoland or Büsingen), every parcel needs a customs declaration. The shipment shows a Customs marker on the Shipments list and on the pack bench, and its rate panel says where it goes (“Ship to: Zürich, Switzerland (CH)”).
- The declaration fills itself from your Shopify products. Each item of the parcel becomes one line: its HS code and country of origin from Shopify (Product → Shipping → Customs information), its weight, and the price the customer paid. Fix a missing HS code in Shopify and press Fill from products, or correct a line by hand for this parcel only.
- No label without a complete declaration. While a line lacks a description, quantity, value, weight, an HS code (6 to 13 digits) or a country of origin, Floormode fetches no rates and buys no label, and says which item is missing what. Ship all skips such a parcel with the same sentence.
- Which carriers ship outside the EU: DHL connected directly, on your own DHL business contract, and EasyPost (with your own linked carrier accounts). Hermes and UPS connected directly, and ShipEngine parcels, ship within one country; Sendcloud ships within the EU. A carrier account that cannot reach the destination is marked in New shipment and refused before the carrier is asked.
- DHL abroad. Add your DHL Paket International billing number (procedure 53) and a contract estimate to the DHL account, and parcels to Austria, Switzerland, the UK or Norway get a DHL Paket International rate (up to 120 × 60 × 60 cm). With a Warenpost International billing number (procedure 66) too, parcels up to 1 kg and 35.3 × 25 × 10 cm get that cheaper rate beside it, once the box size is known. Warenpost International is tracked to the door only when your contract books it as Premium. DHL takes goods to the US and Puerto Rico only with its duty-paid service, which Floormode does not book yet: use another carrier there. The customs form states the order number as the invoice and the shipping the customer paid, after discounts, as postal charges. Without the international billing number, a parcel abroad is refused with a sentence saying which number to add.
- Heligoland and Büsingen with DHL ship as ordinary DHL Paket within Germany, with no declaration. For Büsingen, attach two copies of the invoice to the outside of the parcel.
- The customs form prints beside the label. The carrier generates it (CN23 or commercial invoice) from the declaration; open it as a PDF in the rate panel and print it on an office printer, and the pack bench reminds the packer to attach it. Warenpost International prints its CN22 on the label itself. If DHL returns no customs form, the rate panel and Ship all say so: print it in the DHL business portal. Goods worth over €1,000 also need an export declaration (ATLAS), which Floormode does not file: the declaration says so.
- Changing the declaration after getting rates drops those rates: get rates again, so the declaration you buy is the one that was rated.
Landed cost (duties plus taxes, via Zonos) applies to freight bookings only and is configured by Floormode’s operator; there is no merchant Zonos connection.
Everything you need is reachable from the empty state on this tab:
- Carrier account and label printer (PrintNode) — under Settings → Carriers & packaging (
/settings/carriers). - Freight account — ShipEngine LTL or Uber Freight, as above.
- Customs information — the HS code and country of origin on your Shopify products, for parcels leaving the EU.
