Production pick
Production pick (/floor/component-pick/:id) is the fifth Floor Mode job. It looks like a normal pick and ends somewhere completely different: instead of a parcel going to a customer, the picked components go to a staging binStaging binA bin holding goods marshalled for a next step — components waiting for a build, or parcels waiting for despatch — rather than stock available to pick.

Components, not orders
Section titled “Components, not orders”A normal floor pick pulls the things a customer bought. A production pick pulls the things a work order needs — the components that will be assembled into a finished item.
The distinction matters to the numbers behind it. Components picked to staging are no longer freely available, but they have not been shipped either: they are committed to a build that has not happened yet.
The loop
Section titled “The loop”The picker’s loop is deliberately identical to a normal pick — scan bin, scan item, confirm quantity — because it should be. A picker who knows one screen knows both, and the muscle memory carries over.
What differs is the destination: instead of a tote heading for the pack bench, the components go to the staging bin named on the job.
Where it ends
Section titled “Where it ends”The picked components sit in staging until the build runs. From the order side, an order waiting on that build shows the hold reason “Waiting for production”, and its progress stepper carries the Waiting stage — the warehouse is not what is late.
