Queue
Queue (/fulfillment/queue) lists the orders that are ready to pick in your warehouse: their stock is reserved and no hold is left on them. From here you cut them into pick batches. Once work is handed out to people, the same page shows who holds which pick, and the floor’s other work in a list of its own.

The orders ready to pick
Section titled “The orders ready to pick”Each row is one order, with its lines, its bins, when it was placed and when it became ready. The heading counts every ready order in the warehouse, not just the page in view. Choose the warehouse in the toolbar; it is the same choice on every Fulfillment tab.
The views across the top narrow the list:
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| All orders | Every order ready to be picked. |
| Single-item | One line, one unit: the classic batch material. |
| Late | Ready for more than a day. |
| Mine | Orders whose pick is yours (once work is handed out). |
| Unassigned | Orders nobody has taken yet (once work is handed out). |
On the plan that has pick profiles, + Filter → Pick profile shows one profile’s orders.
Making a batch
Section titled “Making a batch”Create batch turns orders into a pick batch: tick the orders you want, or leave them unticked and the batch takes the first ones listed. Once the batch exists, its page opens and the floor can pick it.
When nothing is ready
Section titled “When nothing is ready”An empty queue says why, with the way to each list: orders short of stock (See shortages), held (See held orders), already in a batch (See batches), waiting for their pack day where you use delivery dates, and orders at a Shopify location without a warehouse (Set up locations).
Handing out work
Section titled “Handing out work”With Auto-assign pick tasks on (Settings → Fulfillment → Work assignment), a ready order’s pick goes to someone in the warehouse whose zones and skills fit: the people planned for picking today first, then whoever holds the least work. A pick that waits for its pack day or for a release stays in the pool until then. Zones and skills are set under Settings → Warehouses → your warehouse → Zones, stations & staff.
Once picks are being handed out, the queue adds an Assignee column and these actions:
- Claim next takes the next task in the pool that fits your zones and skills, a pick or other floor work, and switches the list to Mine.
- Take on a row takes that pick, and Start begins it. A pick closes when it is picked, in its batch or on the floor.
- Your own unstarted work can be given back to the pool; a lead can unassign anyone’s, or give it to someone with Hand to….
Other floor work
Section titled “Other floor work”Under the orders, Other floor work lists the floor’s tasks that are not order picks: put away, refill, move stock, count, receive, and returning cancelled picks to a shelf. It appears once there is such work or picks are handed out. Its views are Open, Mine, Unassigned and All. A task is taken and started the same way and closed with Complete; a return to shelf closes with its last scan, and a transfer plan with Mark planned.
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| Unassigned | In the pool, nobody on it |
| Claimed | Someone took it |
| Assigned | Someone was given it |
| In progress | Being worked now |
| Done | Finished |
| Cancelled | Withdrawn |
Where the floor sees it
Section titled “Where the floor sees it”People on the floor do not work from this page. Floor Mode shows each person the work for where they work, one job at a time, and what they do there updates this page.
