Shopify Flow

Shopify Flow runs your own automations: tag an order, send an email, post to a chat. Floormode adds its own triggers to Flow, so a workflow can start when something happens on your floor.

Flow is free in Shopify and Floormode’s triggers work on every Floormode plan.

In the Flow editor, choose Select a trigger and search for Floormode:

TriggerStarts when
Shipping label purchasedFloormode bought a shipping label for an order
Parcel packedA packer finished a parcel and handed it on for fulfillment
Parcel fulfilledShopify confirmed the fulfillment Floormode created for a parcel. Once per parcel
Shipment deliveredThe carrier delivered a parcel. Once per shipment
Shipment delivery exceptionThe carrier reported a problem, such as a failed delivery attempt or a return to sender. Again if a new problem follows after the parcel was moving again
Count variance foundA submitted count does not match the stock on record
Order put on holdA hold became active on an order

Only orders from your Shopify store start a trigger that names an order.

  1. Open Shopify Flow and create a workflow.
  2. Select a Floormode trigger.
  3. Add a condition if you want one, then an action, for example Add order tags or Send internal email.
  4. Turn the workflow on.

Floormode starts the trigger from then on. Things that happened before you turned the workflow on do not start it later. If Flow says it could not turn the workflow on, wait a moment and turn it on again.

Every trigger except Count variance found carries the order, so a workflow can read and change it with Flow’s order actions. Each also carries a few fields you can use in conditions and messages:

TriggerFields
Shipping label purchasedOrder name, Shipment, Carrier, Service, Tracking number
Parcel packed, Parcel fulfilledOrder name, Parcel, Warehouse, Tracking number
Shipment delivered, Shipment delivery exceptionOrder name, Shipment, Carrier, Tracking number
Count variance foundCount, Warehouse, Counted lines, Variance lines, Variance units
Order put on holdOrder name, Hold, Hold reason

A field Floormode does not know yet, such as a tracking number on a parcel without one, is empty. A trigger never carries a customer’s name, email, address or phone; a workflow reads those from the order.

Floormode sends each trigger in the background, behind its updates to Shopify, so a workflow can start a little after the event. When Shopify is busy, Floormode waits and tries again by itself.

A trigger that could not be sent is listed in Settings → Integrations → Shopify updates, under Failed updates to Shopify, with the trigger and its order. Fix the cause, then click Send again.

Shopify Flow cannot tell whether it already received a trigger. Floormode therefore sends a trigger again when it is not sure the first try arrived, for example when Shopify did not answer in time. In that rare case a workflow runs twice. Flow’s run history shows both runs.
