Inventory
Inventory (/inventory) is the biggest section of the app: eight tabs covering what you have, what is coming, where it sits, and how every number got to be what it is.
Shopify is the source of truth for what is sellable. Floormode is the source of truth for where in the building it is and why the number changed — and it syncs availability back to Shopify from every linked warehouse.
Not everything on your shelves is a Shopify product, though. With a sibling app connected, raw materials, sub-assemblies and custom items are stocked here too — see Local items.

What you can do here
Section titled “What you can do here” Stock Per-variant stock across warehouses in Shopify's own vocabulary: on hand, committed, available, incoming.
Receiving Expected deliveries, receiving progress, discrepancies and putaway — the office view of booking goods in.
Counts Cycle counts a few bins at a time, with variances, an approval queue and optional blind counting.
Adjustments & movements Every reason-coded adjustment, and the full stock ledger of what moved, why and who did it.
Lots & serial numbers Where a lot or a serial-numbered unit is, where it came from and which orders it went to.
Local items Goods that are not on Shopify — raw materials, sub-assemblies and custom items — and the Unplaced items worklist.
Bins Bin master data, the bulk location generator and bin label printing.
Placement Advanced. Home bins, putaway rules, re-slotting suggestions and automatic pick-bin refills.
Item dimensions & capacity Optional product dimensions and per-location capacity, so the app can answer 'is this bin full?'
Backorders & oversell Allow selling beyond on-hand, per warehouse, and what arriving stock does for waiting orders.
Key concepts
Section titled “Key concepts”- On handOn handThe units physically in the building right now, whether or not they are already promised to an order. Read more → , committedCommittedUnits already promised to open orders and therefore no longer freely sellable, even though they are still on the shelf. Read more → , availableAvailableOn hand minus committed minus unavailable — what is left to sell after existing orders have taken their share and held-back stock (damaged, quality control, safety stock, a blocked lot's units) is set aside. It is the number Shopify shows as available. Read more → , incomingIncomingUnits on an expected receipt that has not fully arrived — stock you have coming but cannot pick yet. Read more → — the four numbers on every row.
- Available to promiseAvailable to promiseWhat you can genuinely commit to a customer right now, taking existing reservations into account. Floormode spells this out rather than using the industry abbreviation. Read more → — what you can actually sell right now.
- BinBinA specific place stock sits. Every bin has a type — receiving, quality check, quarantine, bulk, pick, packing, staging or returns — which tells the app how to treat what is in it. Read more → — where stock physically sits.
- Expected receiptExpected receiptA delivery you are waiting on. It moves from expected, through being received, to received as the floor books it in line by line. Read more → — an inbound delivery you are waiting on.
- PutawayPutawayMoving received goods from the receiving area to the bin they belong in. With the receiving policy **Straight to a shelf** it happens during receiving; with a dock policy a put-away task follows the receipt (after the inspection, where the policy inspects). A work order's finished goods that Floormode books onto the workbench bin `WO-STAGE-01` get a put-away task too; an output that needs the receiver (serial numbers, or a date Floormode cannot work out) is received on its receipt instead. Read more → — moving received goods from the dock to their bin.
- Cycle countCycle countCounting a few bins at a time, continuously through the year, instead of shutting the warehouse for an annual stocktake. Read more → — counting a few bins at a time, all year round.
- Local itemLocal itemA good you stock and move in Floormode that does not exist on Shopify — an Assemblified raw material or sub-assembly, or a Logistified custom item — recognisable by an id starting `VMAT-`, `ASM-` or `CSTM-`. Read more → — stock that exists here but not on Shopify, held for a connected sibling app.
