Warehouse transfers

A transfer moves stock from one of your warehouses to another. Floormode reserves it at the source, tracks it in transit, and books it in at the destination like any other delivery.

A document with lines (item and quantity) between two warehouses you run. Shopify sees the stock leave one location and arrive at the other.

Open Inventory → Transfers → New transfer, choose source and destination, and add lines. Save the draft; it reserves nothing yet. If someone else saves the same draft while you edit, compare with the saved revision before you continue.

Reserve selected stock puts the goods aside at the source; the floor picks them into the staging bin. Record departure moves them to in transit.

Goods in transit belong to neither shelf. The transfer shows how many units are on the way; the stock value moves with them.

The destination sees the transfer as an expected delivery. Receive what physically arrives, into real bins.

Receive only what arrived. Units still in transit stay open until you record what happened to them; cancelling the rest of the source work does not bring dispatched stock back.

A draft is deleted. A reserved transfer releases its reservation. A dispatched transfer cannot be cancelled; receive it or record the loss.

Transfers between warehouses change Shopify’s quantities at both locations, so both warehouses have to be live. A transfer to a warehouse that is not live is refused with the reason.
