Lots & serial numbers
For items that track lots or serial numbers, Floormode keeps every lot and every unit, and every movement of them. That is what lets you answer a supplier’s or a customer’s question, or run a recall, from one page.

Turning tracking on
Section titled “Turning tracking on”Tracking is set per item, on the item’s Tracking card: None (units only), Lot (a lot number at receiving; its date is left out, optional or required, as the item says) or Serial (one serial number per unit, recorded at receiving or at packing).
Finding a lot
Section titled “Finding a lot”Inventory → Lots lists every lot. Find one by its number (typing its start is enough), or filter by item. Search finds a lot by its number too.
A lot’s page
Section titled “A lot’s page”- The four numbers: on hand now, units shipped, the orders it shipped to, and the units that came back on a return.
- Shipped to: every shipment of the lot to an order, newest first, with the order, the day, the units and the warehouse. A row whose order was deleted in Shopify says so. Export gives the list as a spreadsheet, the start of a recall.
- Stock now: the bins that hold the lot. Received from: the receipts that brought it in.
- Made from and Went into: for a batch made from other lots, which lots went into it, and which batches it went into.
- Shipped earlier: when an older closed order moves to the history archive, its lot shipments move with it. Show archived shipments reads them back.
The lot page holds no customer data. Open an order to see who it went to; that needs a role that may see orders.
Blocking a lot
Section titled “Blocking a lot”Block lot stops a lot for a recall, a quality hold or a supplier’s notice. Floormode picks nothing from it, and the orders it was reserved for get other stock or wait. Its free units on the shelves leave Shopify’s available at once: Shopify counts them as unavailable, listed under Managed by apps → Floormode (quality control set by Floormode, apart from your own Quality control count), until you Unblock the lot, which gives back every unit it moved there. Units that orders hold stay committed in Shopify, so blocking a lot never takes Shopify’s available below zero. When one of those orders is cancelled or gets other stock, its unit joins quality control too. A warehouse whose stock Floormode does not update in Shopify keeps Shopify’s own count; the dialog says what happens in each warehouse before you confirm.
Quarantine this lot on the lot’s page then creates the tasks that move the units to the quarantine bin, QUAR-01, to clear the shelves. Units moved there stay there when you unblock.
Serial numbers
Section titled “Serial numbers”Inventory → Serials lists every serial-numbered unit; find one by its serial, or filter by item and state. A unit’s page shows where it came in, where it went and the other units of its item. Search finds a serial number too.
