Stock differences with Shopify
A live warehouse keeps Shopify’s quantity in step with the shelves. When the two disagree, Floormode tells you and asks you to look, instead of guessing which side is right; only a difference found while going live or during a stock check pauses that item’s updates.

What a stock difference is
Section titled “What a stock difference is”Shopify reported a quantity for an item that does not match what Floormode has on shelves for that location. Sales, picks and receipts continue. A difference found while going live or during a stock check holds that item’s Shopify update until it is resolved; a difference the alert reports later does not.
When Shopify shows a different number
Section titled “When Shopify shows a different number”An alert on Home and under Insights → Alerts says which item and which location disagree. The alert only reports: updates for the item keep flowing. Reset the number in Shopify, or record an adjustment here, and the alert clears itself on the next Shopify update.
Before you count
Section titled “Before you count”Finish open shipments for the item and put released goods back into their bins. A unit that sits in a parcel or on a pack station is not shelf stock.
Count every bin
Section titled “Count every bin”Open the item in Inventory → Stock and start the review. Count the item in every listed bin and lot, including goods that were never recorded. Enter what you see, not what you expect.
Confirm the new total
Section titled “Confirm the new total”The review shows the verified total and corrects Shopify’s on-hand quantity to it. Shopify updates resume for the item once the correction is recorded.
Parcels with missing or extra goods
Section titled “Parcels with missing or extra goods”A shipped parcel with fewer or more units than picked is reviewed in the item’s stock drawer under Inventory → Stock. Record what was actually in the parcel; Floormode corrects the shelf and, where needed, the Shopify quantity.
Stock Shopify does not track
Section titled “Stock Shopify does not track”An item with Shopify tracking off has no Shopify quantity to compare. Floormode keeps it as local stock only; a review records what is on the shelf and sends nothing to Shopify.
When to count again
Section titled “When to count again”Count again when the difference reappears after a correction, or when a bin was moved or emptied outside Floormode. A count task on the bin is the quickest way.
