Customer notifications
Settings → Customer notifications decides who sends your customers’ shipping emails and which parcel updates they get. Where customers follow their order — the order page in your store and the block on Shopify’s order status page — is set up under Settings → Customer pages, together with your brand, words and sender address.
Choose the sender
Section titled “Choose the sender”Under Shipment email owner for new orders, choose Shopify (recommended), Floormode or No shipment emails from these flows. Shopify stays the default and sends each fulfillment confirmation with your Shopify email branding.
An order’s sender is settled by whichever comes first: its first fulfillment, or the first customer email for it that goes to the email provider (an order-held or backorder notice can come before any parcel). From then on the order keeps that sender; a change of the setting applies to every order whose sender is not settled yet. Order confirmations, invoices, payment changes and financial-only order edits stay with Shopify either way.
When Floormode sends, it sends one first-shipment confirmation per order, then the parcel updates you select. Each update names its own parcel: if one parcel is delivered while another is still on its way, a delivered email does not mean the whole order arrived.
Two switches pause Floormode’s emails without changing the sender: Enable notifications pauses them for every order, and Notify customers allows or stops the selected updates. The order page in your store stays available while they are off.
Choose parcel updates
Section titled “Choose parcel updates”Under Delivery milestones that email the customer, switch on the updates customers should get: Label created, In transit, Out for delivery, Delivered, Delivery problem, Delivery attempt failed and Returning to sender. More parcels can mean more emails. A repeated carrier update for the same parcel and milestone sends nothing new.
Before the parcel ships adds optional notices for orders waiting on stock or production: an order that is held, an item on backorder, and part of the order shipped.
Recent notifications lists the latest customer emails and whether they went out. Filter by status, and choose Retry on one that failed.
The order page in your store
Section titled “The order page in your store”Every order has a page inside your own online store, in your theme, at /apps/floormode-tracking. Returns start on the page next to it, /apps/floormode-tracking/r (Returns → Requests). Shopify forwards these pages to Floormode through its app proxy, so they need the Online Store channel.
Customers reach the page from the button in Floormode’s emails, Shopify’s tracking link and the order status page, or find their order with the order number and their email address or postal code. The page shows the order’s items, its parcels with carrier and tracking number, its progress and any return. It never shows the customer’s name, street, postal code, email address, phone number or any amounts.
Under Settings → Customer pages → Where customers see it:
- Order page address shows the address with Copy and Open.
- Path in your store follows Shopify’s app proxy path (Settings › Apps › Floormode › App proxy in Shopify). Change it here only after renaming it there.
- Link customers to chooses The order page in your store or The carrier’s tracking page. A password-protected or paused store can’t show the order page: link customers to the carrier until the store is open.
- Check link opens the saved address as a customer would and says whether customers can reach it.
The Order page preview below shows the page in your current brand.
The block on Shopify’s order status page
Section titled “The block on Shopify’s order status page”With Shopify’s customer accounts, Floormode adds a block to the order status page customers see when they are signed in. It shows where the order stands in your warehouse — packed, shipped or waiting, with the reason and the promised day — and links to the order page in your store. It uses the customer’s own Shopify session; no extra sign-in is needed.
To place it, open Shopify’s checkout and accounts editor (Settings → Checkout → Customize in Shopify), switch to the order status page and add the app block Floormode order status. Removing the block changes no order or shipment.
Your brand, words and sender
Section titled “Your brand, words and sender”Settings → Customer pages holds what every customer email and page shares, per store:
- Brand — the store name in emails, the logo (PNG or JPEG, up to 128 KiB and 2048 pixels per side), its width and position, accent, background and text colours, and corners. The colour check says whether every pairing reads at 4.5:1 or better.
- Words — the email introduction, footer and sign-off, the packing slip line, the default language and the support email.
- Sender — the From address. Emails go from Floormode’s address under your store’s name until your own domain is verified (Sending domain).
The email preview beside the cards shows your unsaved draft, and nothing is sent from it.
