Weighted-average unit cost
Section titled “Weighted-average unit cost”Cost is tracked as a weighted average per unit. When you buy the same SKU at different prices — a normal thing over a year of supplier price changes and currency movement — the average moves with the mix you actually hold, rather than pretending every unit cost what the last one did.
Warehouse and in-transit cost
Section titled “Warehouse and in-transit cost”Inventory at recorded cost shows warehouse cost, in-transit cost and their combined recorded cost for each currency. Currencies remain separate; the report does not convert or add them together.
Dispatching a physical warehouse transfer moves its recorded cost from the source warehouse into transit. Partial receipts move only the accepted quantity into the destination warehouse’s cost position. Cancelling an unshipped remainder does not remove goods already in transit. Accepted arrivals at an external destination retire the corresponding transit value without creating a second warehouse cost position in Floormode. Confirmed returns and recorded losses also reduce outstanding transit quantities. A transfer is not a sale and does not itself create cost of goods sold.
The view reads current warehouse cost positions and outstanding transfer executions, rather than historical movement records. It includes at most 500 warehouse positions and 500 active transit lines. If either limit is reached with more rows remaining, Incomplete cost subtotal appears and amounts are marked with a plus sign. These are partial amounts, not the full inventory value.
Units with an unknown cost or currency are counted and excluded from the displayed amounts. Warehouse stock without any recorded cost position is outside this report’s valuation scope. An empty report does not mean physical stock has zero value.
Tracked at ship
Section titled “Tracked at ship”The cost is captured at ship, when a specific unit leaves.
Landed cost
Section titled “Landed cost”Landed cost is included: not just what the supplier invoiced, but what it cost to get the goods to you. For international inbound that means duties and freight rather than the ex-works price.
The difference is not marginal. A product with a 45% margin on the invoice price can be a 20% margin product once landed cost is counted, and only one of those two numbers is worth making decisions with.
The same cost basis feeds the COGS/margin report under Reports.
